I am craving some time in south Florida right now. This dreary crappy weather in has me at the end of my rope! Well, not really, don’t be setting up suicide watches for me, haha. However, I am really tired of everything being soo grey.

This is one of the amazing sunsets that I happened to catch off  of Bahia Honda. Bahia Honda is a great state park in the Florida Keys just south of the island of Marathon and above Big Pine Key. It was easily my favorite place in the keys. It was peaceful, beautiful, and for a public area, it wasn’t over crowded. In the next few weeks I plan on being back down in the Keys and Bahia Honda will sure to be a stop for me. I might leave the photo gear in the car this time and just enjoy the beauty.

Well, tomorrow my little girls leave for the Florida Keys with their mom and step-dad. So, I feel some need to throw up some photographs from the Keys that I took when down there last month. Hopefully it will give them something to imagine on their long drive down there…(I don’t pity Michelle and Ian in the driver’s seats..with 4 kids in the back..no way)

Anyways, if you are ever down in the Keys, make sure to leave some time for Bahia Honda State Park. Bahia Honda takes up pretty much an entire Key all to itself. It is a beautiful park and probably my favorite place in all of the Keys. Many thanks to Kevin for recommending it. On the west side of Bahia Honda we gathered for sunset, and we were not the only ones. Many people congregated with their cameras to capture the beautiful Florida Sunset. Including this guy…who happens to be Kevin, haha.

I am sitting at my desk looking out at all of this snow and other nonsense. Man, I really do not care for this weather at all. I figured I would put up a photograph to help remind me of warmer times, ha. Your reality is all in your head, right?

This palm tree is one the west side of Bahia Honda. It is a great park south of Marathon in the Keys. The park is actually the whole island. There are a number of great areas including the best beach I have ever seen. Crystal clear waters, perfect sand and not a lot of other people. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I would love to be able to be laying on that beach right now….ahhh!
