Zion National Park, quite possibly, is the most beautiful and awe-inspiring place I have ever visited. And that is saying a lot considering we only spent the day there. I am sure we could have easily spent a week or more there and still not covered everything. I cannot wait to go back. Hopefully this October ; )
This photograph was taken along the Emerald Pools Trail. One of Zion’s most popular trails, it was the first one we did this day. It was beautiful. With plenty of waterfalls, pools, and amazing views…wow. I cannot say more, just amazing. At certain points, you could look straight up a cliff face you are standing up and it just goes for thousands of feet. Very impressive. I will put more pictures up some other time.
For all of you photographers, this was a simple shot. It is actually a single jpeg, which I converted to a TIFF then ran through Photomatix. Of course I will never get all of the detail as I would have if it came from a raw file and not jpeg, but I was pleasantly surprised at the detail Photomatix was still able to bring out. What can I say, this photo was taken back in 2008, way before I even knew what HDR was!
